Dear Lucy,

I enjoyed  visitng  CMU again.  Thanks for  your help  while we  were
there.  Merle and I are looking forward to moving there.

We  bought  a  nice  home near  campus,  142  Anita  (near Shady  and
Beechwood), after a frantic couple  days of looking.  Our  settlement
date  is August  13, and  we'll  arrive in  Pittsburgh a  day or  two
earlier  than that.  We'll have  you and Lee over,  as soon as we get
settled in.

The mortgage  company (Columbia  Savings  and Loan)  may contact  the
department  to confirm my  appointment, my  salary, and  perhaps also
CMU's 1-day-per-week policy re consulting.

I obtained  an  account  number  for the  PDP-10  last  week,  but  I
neglected to pick  up a copy  of a users'  manual; could you  send me
one?   Also, could I have a copy  of the "Faculty handbook"? Finally,
please secure an office for me, beginning August 13.
